Apple iPad 2
Apple iPad 2 announced for March 2 and finally it launched. The iPad 2 would be available in the U.S. from March 11. It would be available in 26 more overseas countries from March 25.

New Apple iPad 2 is thinner than iPhone 4. It is one-third thinner than the first-generation model. It is just 8.8mm thin. It weight is just 1.3 pounds which is lighter than the previous 1.5 pounds.

Apple iPad 2 is featured with rear and front facing cameras for recording video, taking photos, and FaceTime video chat. A5 dual-core processor makes it up to 9 times faster for graphics processing.

The new iPad 2 will be available in two colour variants – Black and White at both AT&T and Verizon 3G networks. Magnetic "smart cover” covers the front of the device. It automatically locks the device while taking it off will unlock it. Mirrored HDMI video out to HDTVs for 1080p high-definition output is another new accessory cable with Apple iPad 2. The cable is priced at $39 which allows users to charge their iPad while using the video out feature.

Customers will be charged $39 for polyurethane version of case by Apple and a leather version for $69 for iPad 2.

Apple iPad 2 Event
Once again, Apple is back with its incredible product in new version. It would be iPad 2. It is announced for March 2. So, the event will be celebrated by Apple on March 2. Till now, it is kept secret. The event will be organized at the Yerba Buena Center for the Arts in San Francisco.

The rumor is confirmed by an image which is sent by Apple. It was an iOS calendar iCon with the date March 2. In the background of the image, we watched the iPad.

From the earlier of the week, there was a rumor that Apple will host a media event but now it is confirmed. It is expected that Apple will show off a new iPad with faster hardware and a FaceTime camera.

According to an authorized source, Apple iPad 2 gadget is ready to hit the market in March with 5 million units and in April with 3 to 4 million units.

It is also expected that the Apple iPad 2 will be featured with an upgraded display with improved anti-reflection capabilities. It is also expected that new version of iPad will be thinner and lighter with more RAM, a faster CPU, and improved graphics processing capabilities.

Many news portals expect that iPad 2 will be featured with 3G functionalities also. It would be launched for both - GSM and CDMA. And perhaps it would support both technologies in one.

There is a speculation for an extra port also on the side of the device. It is speculated for a Mini DisplayPort adapter. It could be possible for data connections as well as video output also.

Apple has already created a big record selling 15 million iPad by the end of 2010. With the iPad 2 announcement, a rumor has started for Apple iPad 3 also.

Recently, a research came in light about iSlate which is an electronic notepad. It is being developed by the scientists from Singapore. It is a low-cost power stingy tablet for children in rural India. They can charge the device using solar energy.

An online news portal - timesofindia.indiatimes.com, writes about iSlate, “Singapore's Nanyang Technological University (NTU) and Rice University are developing an electronic notepad that consumes very little energy. This device, called I-slate may soon allow some of the estimated 100 million Indian children who attend schools without electricity to have access to an electronic notepad.”

Further the news portal adds, “I-Slate, Palem's brainchild, is in development at Institute of Sustainable and Applied Infodynamics (ISAID) which is based at NTU. The first prototypes of the I-slate, which were built by a team that included three Rice undergraduates, are set to undergo their second round of tests in India later this month.”

Further the news portal quotes a statement of NTU President Su Guaning also, “Developing an electronic notepad that is green, requires very little energy to operate and that could even run on solar energy in future is in line with NTU's emphasis on sustain ability research. Recently, Apple launched its first music social network – Ping which has already reached one million users in just over 48 hours. It is a one of the much-admired features of iTunes 10 which was announced at a special Apple event alongside new iPods and a revamped Apple TV.

Ping is Apple’s first music social network. It allows users to share what music they’re buying on Apple’s iTunes Store. If you join on Ping, you can become a friend of others just like other existing networks. You can view custom music charts also based on what songs their circle of friends have been buying on the iTunes Store and like. You can comment on other user’s purchases.

iTunes software runs with more than 160 million existing users. About one million users have downloaded iTunes 10 and joined Ping already.
